Tommy's story . . .

Tommy is now 11. When he 23 month we found out he had cancer. He battled it from 2001 till 2004. He has had over 70 surgeries. He is now having a lot of other issues that could be fatal if not treated. He has lung issues, kidney issues, depression and panic attacks from his chemo drugs, eye issues, growth issues just to name a few. We have one clinic at Nemours we don't see and that is because we have a private doctor for that. A big issue we are facing now is joint and muscle pains. His body locks up on him. His weight is a problem but he is on steroids as well as lacking a growth hormone that causes him to store fat and not make lean muscle mass. This also effects his breathing, and we may have serious liver problems still to be determined... We try to keep him active but too much locks him up for days... We went swimming and he played yesterday for a few hours and today has been spent in bed. I know he will over come this and I also know God has big plans for him. He is very smart. His teacher this year loved science and that carried to Tommy. He wants to be a scientistt and a doctor. He doesn't want to treat people as much as do research to find cures. I am very blessed to have great people around me. I am blessed. Thanks everyone!
